18th Century buckle shoes Leather with rough side out OR smooth side out. Black only. Plain buckles included.

Buckles are not attached, message me for a direction sheet on how to do so.

Made with leather soles and metal heel plate to prevent wear and tear. The rough out are softer and mold to your foot easier than smooth side out. The smooth side out version does eventually mold to your foot quite well. Historically accurate for reenactors.

Here is some history from Cordwainers & Cobblers, Shoemakers in Colonial America
March 8, 2016 by Harry Schenawolf "Leather was brought to desired thickness by ‘curing,’ or scraping over a wooden beam. Unlined shoes would be made with the smooth side inside to take the place of a lining. The rough outside leather was dressed with a mixture of soot, lard, bear grease, and beeswax"

Adding hobnails helps improve traction! You can find them on Amazon.
